Online Marketing / April 2, 2014
Personal Timelines on Facebook is for personal stuff, like posts and photos about you, your families, your friends etc. While Facebook Pages is specially tailored for business, organization or brands. Facebook Pages comes with whole bunch of marketing tools which are not in your Personal Timelines.
Here are why you should use Facebook Page for your brands instead of your Personal Timeline.
1. Unlimited fans count for your Page.
Facebook limit your Personal Timeline to have at most 5000 friends, while there are no limit of the number of fans your Page can have. Why would you want to limit the number of fans your brand can have, right? Plus, if you are using your Personal Timeline for your brand, your fans need to send you a friend request, and you have to to approve them before they can join your brand. While with Page, all they need to do is just “Like” your Page.
If you have a location for your business, a good way for your fans to interact with your brand is by letting them check-in to your place. Number of people check-in to your place will help increasing exposure of your brand and improving your brand popularity.
3. Facebook Page Insight
Analytics data is important. With Facebook Page Insight you can monitor your page reach, amount of views of your posts. You will need this data to improve your post reach and what kind of post that work best for you.
4. Run Contest
Everybody love contest!
Contest brings excitement. Keep in touch with your fans by hosting contest on your Facebook Page to keep engagement with your audience and some of them will spread the word of your contest and in the way, spreading the words of you business.
Facebook advertising is very targeted. You get to set the scope of your target audience by their age, location, interests, their relationship status and etc. You can advertise to promote your Facebook Fanpage but not your personal page.
Facebook Page is specially used to connecting people to a topic they care about, like a business, brand, or organization. So make sure you get it right from the beginning.
