Overview
A Digital Gathering Place for Faith, Prayer, and Community
Burmah Road Gospel Hall Chinese Speaking Assembly wanted a website that feels calm, welcoming, and easy to use for every member of the congregation. The goal was simple. Make weekly updates and prayer matters easy to access, while reflecting the church’s faith, values, and sense of community.
We designed a mobile friendly WordPress website that acts as a digital extension of the church. A place where members can stay informed, reflect, and feel connected even outside physical gatherings.

Approach
The Challenge
The main challenge was to present weekly church information in a clear and calm way while keeping the website easy to update and easy to read on all devices.
The site needed to support members of different age groups without feeling overwhelming or complicated.
Clear Content Structure
We organised weekly updates, prayer matters, and church information into clearly defined sections. Generous spacing and readable typography make longer Chinese text comfortable to read, especially on smaller screens.
Designed for Mobile Reading
Many members check updates on their phones. The website was designed with mobile reading in mind, focusing on clear text hierarchy, smooth scrolling, and fast loading pages.
Visual Identity & Brand Consistency
Color & Atmosphere
Creating Calm Through Thoughtful Color
Warm browns, soft golden tones, and gentle light gradients were chosen to reflect peace, faithfulness, and spiritual growth. These colors echo biblical imagery and create a welcoming environment for reflection and prayer.
The palette avoids trendy or overly bright colors, allowing the design to feel timeless, humble, and grounded in faith.
Textured Design with Natural Imagery
Natural imagery inspired by fields and landscapes adds depth without distracting from the content. Subtle textures soften the layout and help the website feel warm and human rather than clinical or corporate.
